Artist statement

My personal journey began with Julia Cameron’s book “The Artist Way” a spiritual path to higher creativity. I was a full time mom searching for more meaning in my life. I began experimenting with watercolor, and fell in love with the medium. I painted as much as I could taking week long workshops with many accomplished artists.

 Living in the North Lake Tahoe area, I was very inspired by the natural beauty. I painted traditional watercolor landscapes since 1999 and took a couple of years off during a transitional time. I relocated to Nevada City California to begin a new life.

 I was drawn to the area because of the artist community, the progressive cultural atmosphere and the overall feeling. I began teaching watercolor classes to adults and it has become a very rewarding part of my life as an artist. I teach ongoing weekly classes to all levels focusing on watercolor technique.

 I see the creative process as an inner experience. My desire is to continue to express myself through the magic of the art making process!!
